This is a private tea tasting session, which means you can book a time slot that suits your schedule. Available time slots:

• Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays:
  11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

• Saturdays:
  10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Please email us in advance to check availability, especially for Saturday sessions, as spaces are limited. All sessions before Christmas are booked, and the next opening is 7 January 2026.

An Introduction to the Art of Tea Appreciation

Our private and group tea tasting sessions are thoughtfully designed withtea appreciation and relaxation at their heart. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned tea drinker, these sessions offer a wonderful opportunity to deepen your understanding and enjoyment of tea.

Under the guidance of Juyan, the owner of The Chinese Tea Company, you’ll taste a variety of carefully selected, delicious, and rare teas. Juyan’s passion and expert knowledge will help you discover the many layers of tea — from its origins and processing to brewing techniques and tasting notes.

• Enjoy a casual and intimate experience in our Portobello Green tea shop

• Learn about different types of tea, how they are made, and how best to brew and taste them

• Discover when to drink different teas and what characteristics to look for

• Sample four teas — each from a different tea category and region, showcasing the rich diversity that comes from a single plant.
