Doucai Porcelain Large Cup

Elegant porcelain drum-shaped cup is hand-made in Jingdezhen with high quality porcelain and glaze. The shape is straight with slightly curbed vertical walls, rounded shoulders and base, slight wider in the middle and narrower at the top and bottom. The shape and size fit in one's hand perfectly. 

Doucai (斗彩) is a traditional Chinese porcelain decoration technique that originated in the Ming Dynasty, especially during the Chenghua period (1465–1487). The design is first outlined in underglaze blue and fired. Then the piece is painted with overglaze enamels in multiple colors. Finally, it is fired again, causing the underglaze and overglaze colors to blend harmoniously.

There are only three cups in stock, it matches with Doucai Gaiwan.
