Zhang Zefeng, a young artist who is the 5th generation in the family for making traditional hand thrown Chaozhou Red Clay teapot. After finishing the university in Art, Zhang Zefeng went back home and followed his father's step and learning the traditional skill of making traditional Chaozhou teapot. As a young artist, he has not only been making traditional style of teapots, but also adds his new ideas to the design.
The pot is made with a mix of two clay with different colours that is done intentionally to create a kind of swirled effect. Two clays were carefully placed together and then bit up many times until both clays are sticked together as one piece. The mixed clay would have to carefully handled for keeping the swirled patten.
Each teapot is fully handmade so that the pot you receive might be different to the one showing in the picture.

Preparation Before Use
Just like Yixing Teapots, Chaozhou teapot should be prepared before using the first time. This is called "opening the pot". It removes the dust/sand from firing the teapot.
We would recommend rinsing the teapot under warm water two or three times, then wipe gently inside and outside of the pot with a new non-scratch sponge scourer to remove sediment trapped in the unglazed clay.
Then, filling the teapot with boiling water, wait for 10 minutes, empty the pot; repeat one more time, the new Yixing teapot is ready for use.
Daily cleaning and seasoning
Empty the leaves after each use, rinse with boiling water, drain, wipe water away with clean soft cloth, and then lid off, place the body upside, let it air dry for one or two days.
Do not ever use any detergent or soap than water to clean the pot.
Do not let the potcome into contact with other strong smell such as cooking fume, cigarette smoke, perfume.
