Bai Lu Tea is a white tea that is harvested during the Bai Lu solar term in the traditional Chiense lunisolar calendars - it begins when the sun readhces the celestial longitude of 165° and ends when it reaches the longitude of 180° and it usually begins around middle September and ends around early October.  After the summer heat, the weather starts cooling down in the early autumn; tea bush reaches another peak time and starts grow new leaves again.  Tealeaves are harvested during Bai Lu are not as delicate as the ones from spring harvest, not as dry, bitter from summer harvest, but there is a unique taste of fruity and mellow flavor. Bai Lu Tea is particularly popular among local tea lovers.

This Bai Lu White Tea is made up of both buds and a substantial amount of large leaf.  Same as our other white tea, the tea comes from an organic tea garden (certified by IMO, Switzerland) at the Nine Peaks Mountains in Funding City, Fujian Province. The remote location that reaches 1000m altitudes and the slightly acidic soil is excellent for growing tea. The unique terrain where the tea is growing in partial shade of other trees adds to the exceptionally pure taste of this white tea.

The tea is air-dried, which confers a soft sweetness, creates a complex, refined, and elegant fragrance.  White tea can be consumed fresh as well as aged like Puer tea (please note, this is not a puer tea), it is for that reason that it is pressed into cakes to make it compact and easy to store.  The tea cake is sealed with aluminum foil, once open, please store the tea in a air-tighted bag or container. 

Brewing Instructions:

How to brew

- Use freshly drawn cold water

- Boil water & allow to cool for 3 minutes to about  100 ºC

- Use 3g tea leaves in a 350ml cup

- Steep for 1 to 2 minutes (or to your taste), 

- Infusions: at least 3 times – don't remove the leaves from the mug, as once the water level is low, simply add more water and keep going until the flavour of the tea is gone

- Brewing vessel: Glass cup, gaiwan, glass or porcelain pot
